The reason behind the choices
Useful software.
Without the watching.
You should be able to write a thought, plan your day or record a voice memo without creating a profile for advertising. Privacy is one of the reasons these apps exist, and it shapes how we build them.
We don’t build analytics or advertising trackers into the apps. We don’t collect your vault contents to sell them, mine them for behavioural profiles or use them to train AI models. There is no background upload of your notes, tasks or recordings to a Tiha content service.
Collect less.
When a feature can work on your device, it should. Data we never receive cannot become a dataset we analyse or sell.
Keep choices visible.
Network features should have a clear purpose and an explicit action. Connecting a service should never silently enable unrelated tracking.
Keep control with you.
Your work belongs with you. Local storage and encrypted backups let you keep a copy without needing an account with us.
A smaller footprint
Your work starts
on your device.
The apps keep their local data in separate, product-specific encrypted vaults. A note in Tiha Notes doesn’t become content in another app just because they share a name or design.
There is no Tiha cloud account or automatic family-wide cloud sync. The local tools are designed to work with the data already on your device. Fonts and interface assets are bundled with the apps; opening a screen does not need to fetch a remote font or an advertising script.
Local storage also gives you responsibility. A lost device, cleared browser profile or failed drive can mean lost work. Keep encrypted backups somewhere you control; storing data locally is not the same as backing it up.
Protection with clear boundaries
Encrypted storage.
A choice about access.
The apps encrypt their saved content and private preferences before writing them to their local vaults. Depending on the app, that includes records, text, activity and supported attachments or audio. Each product documents its own supported formats and limits.
Where optional password protection is available, turning it off keeps content encrypted but stores access on the device for convenience. That mode does not protect the vault from someone who can access your device profile. Enable password protection when you need a separate password barrier, and protect your device account too.
With password protection enabled, the app needs your passphrase to unlock the vault. We don’t provide a service that can recover a forgotten vault passphrase. Encrypted backups need their own supported unlock credentials; keep them safe.
Exports are a separate choice. A document, audio file or other decrypted export leaves the vault’s protection when you save or share it. The destination app, folder or service then controls that copy.
Each app has its own boundary

Connections should
be deliberate.
Your app content stays on your device. Opening an external link or sharing an exported file is your choice; the destination’s privacy practices apply to that copy.
Tiha Calendar keeps local calendars. Tiha Mail and Tiha Chat are still in the works.

Looking after your work
Keep it private.
Keep a backup.
Use a strong passphrase and protect your device account. An unlocked screen, copied text or exported file can be seen outside the vault.
Keep encrypted backups somewhere safe, along with the passphrases needed to open them. We cannot recover a forgotten vault passphrase.
